Punk-rock drummer, world traveler, guerrilla muralist, fine art painter, Ed Trask integrates parts of his band bus caravan trips into his brilliantly lighted canvases. Recollections of passing pastoral scenes defined by utility poles and street lights, hills and valleys, urban settings and country landscapes take on this drummer’s rhythms. EDWARD TRASK: AN UNORTHODOX BEGINNING

While decorating the walls of buildings and restaurants in his home city, Richmond, VA, drummer Trask developed a simultaneous reputation as a fine artist. Now, firmly entrenched as a collectible painter, the field in which he received his VCU degree, some of his 30 murals have been removed to home settings by avid fans. His subjects are immersed in surprising colors and vivid energy reflecting highways and byways as though he has just passed through.

EDWARD TRASK: NOSTALGIA ENERGIZED

Ed Trask is an artist who makes symbolic portraits of industrial venues and country roads exciting with his energetic brushwork and out of context applications of strong hues. Sometimes the effect is reminiscent of the early impressionist canvases of Cezanne and Van Gogh, Trask skirts the expected in his landscapes charging the viewer to recollection of times past. His interest is not in progress but preservation.

Trask has had temporary murals displayed worldwide and many cutting edge publications have published his paintings. His work is included in many corporate collection, such as NBC, Gap, Old Navy and Heinz.
