Born in Columbus, Ohio, Paul Landacre initially planned to be a scientist but an early illness lead him to move to Southern California where he took drawing courses at the Otis College of Art and Design. Landacre is best known for his wood engravings, which he printed himself, often experimenting with different papers and inks. “Children’s Carnival” demonstrates his technical and artistic mastery of a medium that was originally only used for book illustration. |
